母や兄弟が保健所に捕獲され一匹だけ取り残された子犬"ポンタ"が、保健所の捕獲を逃れ、
過酷な野生の生活をおくり、人間による虐待を受け、骨と皮の状態で保護される。
しかし、動物愛護団体の人や里親の家族の愛情により、心身症も癒され、幸せな飼い犬になるまでのお話。

この本には、自分の生活をすべて捨て犬や捨て猫に捧げている加藤さんや動物愛護団体の人
たちの活動が書かれてあり、その活動には頭が下がる思いがする。
捨て犬や捨て猫を一匹でも減らせるように自分にもなにかできないかと思う。

この本に登場する加藤緑さんは全財産を投じて動物保護の活動を行い、
「動物の幸せを結ぶ会」　http://www.satooya-tsuushin.net/
で情報公開している。加藤緑さんの活動をぜひ応援していきたいと思う。

この本は小学生向けに書かれた本だが、小学生にも大人にも読んでほしいと思う。
