紙の質がとても良く、写真なども豊富なため、この値段はしょうがないかなとは思いますが、内容は今までに出版された本を読んでいる方にとっては、新しい話は一切ありません。特に「おしゃれ大図鑑」とはかなりかぶっている気がします。美輪さんの本をあまり読まれたことがない方にはお勧めですが、いろいろな本を読まれている方には正直お勧めできません。

ＮＨＫ人間講座 美輪明宏　人生・愛と美の法則 のテキストに編集を加えた一冊

この題名を聞いたひとのなかには、いったい美輪明宏がなにを語るのだろう？思う人もすくなくないはず。

しかし、私はこの美輪明宏というひとの芸術や音楽に関する幅広い知識と深い洞察力について畏敬の念をはらっている。
美輪氏は最近のＴＶで見るからにはかなり怪しいゲイのおじさんといった印象を受けるかも知れないが、舞台の演出、歌手、そして俳優として異彩を放っている。また、最近ではハウルの動く城で魔女の声の役を演じた。宮崎氏はハウルの構想を練った段階で、魔女には美輪氏以外にはありえないとと思っていたと後のインタービューで語ったそうだ。

さて、今回の人間講座についてだが、戦前、戦中、戦後と生き抜いてきた美輪氏の個人的な経験を交えながら、自身の生い立ち、歌との出会い、絵画、作家、舞踏家など花広い交友関係とそれぞれの芸術に触れている。さらに。内容は芸術にとどまらず、長崎生まれで自身も原爆の被爆者である体験にふれながら、怒涛の時代を生き抜いてきたすさまじさが読み取れる。

この中でも特筆すべきは、本書の「ヨイトマケの唄」の放送分の内容である。この唄は、日本が急速な高度成長を遂げる中、その影にかくれて取り残されていった人々の悲哀と世の中に対する不条理さについて歌った歌であるが、この回の放送で「ヨイトマケの唄」の誕生秘話が明かされる。
私は、本書を書店で手に取りパラパラとめくってみたが、この放送分の内容については釘付けになって読みふけってしまい、最後には感動のあまりに目を潤ませてしまった。

美輪明宏という人物にすこしでも興味をもたれた方はぜひ本書を購入すると同時にDVDもごらんになっていただきたい。その経験はあなたの人生観に大きく影響を与えるかもしれない。そういう意味でもこのテキストは皆さんの永久保存版にしてほしい。
