　文学賞審査員に対する容赦ない批評で評判を呼んだ対談本の続編。芥川賞落選常連作家島田雅彦氏を迎えての鼎談が収録されており、これが滅法面白い。文学賞の内実暴露、容赦ない作品批評等島田氏のオブラートに包みつつ切れ味鋭い発言が楽しめる。
　しかしながら、それ以外は前作ほど楽しめず。著者二人の斬り込みに飽きてきたかな。

前作『文学賞メッタ斬り！』は最高に楽しめましたが、正直今回の
『リターンズ』は…う〜ん、と首を傾げずにはいられませんでした。
島田雅彦さんの加わったラウンドはとても良かったですが、その他
のラウンドは尻すぼみだった気がする。

もちろん、豊崎さん大森さんのお二人自体の「切れ味」は相変わらず
抜群ですが、総合的に見て、この本自体は「切れ味」が前回に比べて
激減していると感じました。前回は読後、「痛快！」と心から思いま
したが、今回はただ「う〜ん…」となってしまって。

ちょっと期待はずれでした。

正直表紙を見た時から「アレ・・・？」と思った。前作のようにびしっと決まってなく、線も荒っぽくてなんか「二番煎じ」の匂いプンプン・・・は言い過ぎか。　　　　　　　　　　　でも立ち読みできるボリュームじゃないんで買ったんだけど(失礼)、やはりパワー落ちてた。歯に衣着せぬ物言いは健在だけど妙に偏りが見えてきた気が。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　特に大森氏、なぜあんなつまらん作家を持ち上げるのか、ダメ男をリアルに描いたからってそれがなんなのか。(さて、誰のことでしょう)　でも最近の芥川・直木賞の　　　選考基準に激しく疑問を覚えるのも事実で、この二人のように真っ向からおかしいと言える書評家が大変貴重な存在であるのも確かなので、応援はしたい、かな。　　　それにしても芥川・直木賞の選考委員がすべて作家で占められてるのって問題では。「名選手必ずしも名監督になれず」という昔からの言葉もあるよ。
