　本書は、著者が過去十年間に亘り、雑誌・新聞・小説などの文字資料、ドラマ・映画などの映像資料から蒐集した「慣用表現」や「ことわざ」を約二千項目収録（カナダ順配列）した、世界で初めての「韓国語スラング辞典」である。一般の辞書に掲載されているものは省かれているので無駄がない。また、本国（韓国）でもスラング辞典や口語表現辞典の類はこれまで出版されておらず、上級学習者や韓国語を自在に駆使できる者にとっては必携・必読の一冊と言える。その上、項目毎に俗語度が四段階で示されているので、誤って下品な表現を使ってしまうような失敗も最小限に留めることができる点も親切である。

　また、スラングに限らず、日本語と韓国語で表現方法が全く異なるもの（例：日本語では「○時まで起きています」と言うが、韓国語では「○時まで寝ていません」と表現する）も収録されているので、スラングのみならず「幅広い韓国語」を習得することができる。当然、辞書として使用することも可能だが、小型であるため、読み物としても十分に「楽しめる」本に仕上がっている。

　巻末には体言索引と用言索引が掲載されており、名詞や動詞、形容詞など、ひとつの単語のみを手掛かりに、スラングを探せるのも画期的である。

　本の性質上、時間と共に内容が古くなってしまうという欠点はあるが、その欠点をカバーして余りある魅力がこの本にはある。上級学習者や韓国語を自在に駆使できる者は、是非、入手しておきたい一冊である。

この本を開いてみて思ったのが、「ああ、俗語って、本当にそこに暮らしてる人の言葉なんだなあ」ということでした。
どの表現をとってみても、「板についた人じゃなきゃ言えない、ヘンになる」という、俗度・ハードルが見えるのです。

もしそれが高尚なコトワザかなにかなら、外国人がポロッと言っても、「あら、お勉強なさったのね」という感じで受け入れられるだろうけれど、たとえばですよ、「よっぱらって記憶がねえんだ」って言うときに、『あは、フィルムが切れちゃった』ってしゃあしゃあとぬかせるのは、韓国のおじさんだけだと思うのです。
「余計な夢を見ないでつましく暮らせ」って言うときに、『ほそいクソしてろや』って渋く言い放てるのは、すでに何年もほそいクソしてきた韓国のおじさん以外ありえません。

※実際の本の中身はもっと品が良いもの・日常的なコトバ・洒落た言い回しでいっぱいです。

俗語には味があるので、その味をあじわったことのない人は使いこなせないんだ。
素敵だ。
そう思いました。

この本でいつか私も本家本元の韓国のおじさんに負けない、いぶし銀な韓国センスを身につけたいです。
（文字がかなり小さくて目がチカチカするので☆−１）

うたい文句に釣られて購入しました。
たとえば韓国語で「若い女の子」を示す「やんけ」とか振られるの「せてった」など調べたい語句が載っておらず別の人に聞いてやっとわかりました。
鳥肌の「たくさる」が無いのも失望です。
