英文法があまり理解できないまま勉強をしてきましたが、基礎がないと何も分からないと考え、この本を手に取ってみました。
英文法を基礎の基礎から解説してあるので、疑問が一つひとつ解けてゆく喜びを味わうことができました。これをマスターして、やっと次のステップにつなげられそうです。

文法って膨大でつかみ所の無いものだと思っていました。でも、本書を読むことで、文法の大まかな骨格をつかむことができました。（でも品詞に関しては、さらっと書いてあるだけなので『英語「超基本」を一日30分-尾崎哲夫著』で足慣らしをしました。）

この本で基礎を固めた後に、文法問題集をやると、それまでは闇雲だったものが「ああ、あの項目に関する問題だ。」と分かるようになりました。

あくまでも、文法を理解するための本であることをお忘れなく。TOEICで点数を取るには、別途問題集をやる必要があると思います。

受験から遠ざかりしばらくしてTOEICを受験した際、自分の記憶からせっかく覚えた細かな文法がすっかり消えていました。確かに文法は不要かもしれません。でもある程度は知らないとやはりTOEICは解けなかった！

この本は、そんな記憶の彼方に消えかかっていた知識を呼び起こさせてくれるものでした。明るい色を使い、受験以降軽んじていた基礎文法をていねいに解説してくれています。実践問題もあるので、それで理解度をチェックできました。

私のように一度覚えたものを思い出すのにはもちろん、英語が苦手と感じている人が最初に手に取る本としてもオススメできる一冊です。

解説はわかりやすいし、参考書なのはわかっているが、もう少し問題数があればもっとよかったと思う。文法だけでなく語彙も網羅してあるので、かなり役に立つはず。

ふつうの文法書としても活用できます。所々の挿絵やワンポイントメモが以外に役に立っていて、わかりやすい。欲を言えば実践問題がもう少し入っているとよかった。
