こうさぎがみつけたあひるのたまご。
なかなか出てこないたまごにもたれて、
こうさぎくんはねむってしまいます。
そこから後のストーリー展開に、息子はケラケラとおなかをかかえて
笑います。
そして、母をこうさぎにみたてて、あひると同じ行動をとります。

深く静かな、そして美しい色あいの、古き良きアメリカの香りがする絵本
です。ページをめくるたびに、花々がさきみだれるおしゃれな本でも
あります。

ラストの｢わたしは、ここにいます。｣というセリフに、
なにか哲学的なものを感じてしまうのは、わたしだけでしょうか。

とにかくすごく絵が綺麗。さすが洋書！！
ほんとに驚くほど繊細な色使いです。
絵と内容共に、子供・大人問わず大満足すると思います。

とても素敵な挿絵と可愛らしいストーリーなのですが、
文体が統一されていないというか、不自然というか・・・。
原文は読んでいないのですが直訳っぽいところもありしっくりこないです。
子供は喜んで見入ってますが。
