『英語ライティングルールブック―正しく伝えるための文法・語法・句読法』の問題集。

『ルールブック』では、have to/need to/mustやwhole/entire/allのニュアンスの違い、
コロンやセミコロンの使い方、アメリカ英語とイギリス英語の違いなど、学校では
習わなかっネイティブの感覚が詳細に説明されていて、とても優れた本だと思うのですが、
今までに参考書を読んで分かったつもりになっても、いざ実践しようとすると（または
テストになると）覚えていなかった、という経験はありませんか？

この『ワークブック』は、
　1．まず、『ルールブック』の要約でやはりネイティブの感覚・知識の整理
　2．次に二者択一問題、空欄補充問題、英作文問題を通して知識の確認
　3．丁寧な解説で知識の定着
という形になっていて、やはり自分で考えることで記憶に残りやすくなっていると思います。

また、『ワークブック』は2色刷りになって、『ルールブック』より読みやすくなりました。

どちらかといえば、この『ワークブック』の方がお勧めです。

英検１級のエッセイ、TOEICのライティング試験等の準備（基礎）として「英作文」の本を探していてこの本に巡り合いました。「英作文」に必要な基礎知識が文法偏、語法偏、句読法偏の３つについて、それぞれ２枝択一、空欄語句補充、記述式の３パターンセットの「問題演習」形式で勉強できるため、そのような「英作文の問題演習がしたい」と思っている人には最適だと思います。また、作者は日本人の英語の「クセ」をよく把握している点も素晴らしく、「日本人はよくこういう英作文をするが・・・」という書き方がなされている点が優れています（例えば、company と corporationでは後者が大企業のイメージ等）。ただ、あくまでも１つ１つの文を正しく作るためのまさに「英作文」の本であり、あるテーマについての「エッセイ」対策の話は全くなく、その意味でレビュータイトル通りまさに「一つ一つの英文」の作成練習のための本であるという点に留意が必要です。つまり、「エッセイ」対策をしたい場合には別の書籍が必要です。

頭に入りやすい構成になっていて、とてもいい。
今までよくわかっていなかった、それぞれの語句の持つ微妙な意味の違いや、ふさわしい表現の仕方が、じつにすっきりと頭に入ってくる。そうそうこれが聞きたかった、というようなことがいっぱい。各項目の問題の量も、解説もちょうどいい。また、問題の解答が巻末ではなく、すぐ近くのページにあるのもいい。ほんとうに使いやすい。
