　横浜市内在住の私は、約10Kmを自転車通勤していますが、この本を読んでからというもの、掲載されている建物を実際に見てみたいという衝動を呼び起こさせてくれる本だと感じました。　日頃は、ただ単に見ている建物も、建築家の名や、建築物の特徴をあらためて知ることで、もう一度見たいという気持ちにさせてくれる本です。　建築物の場所を特定するための地図も丁寧に書かれていますので、この本を持って、散策したり自転車で回って見ることで、新しい楽しみ方が出来るのではないでしょうか。

他の建築MAPシリーズ同様、横浜・鎌倉・箱根地域の近現代建築を中心に、時には歴史的建築までの名建築の写真を掲載し、特徴を解説するとともに、この地域に関係した建築家や建築様式等のコラムを載せたガイドブックです。
見て、読んで楽しめるとともに、各建築物についてプロットした地域図がついており、使っても楽しめる本です。

欲を言えば、写真をもう少し大きくして欲しかったという注文はありますが、
これは「実際に物件を見に行け」という出版社の意図があると思いましょう。
建築探偵には必須のアイテムです。
