僕はデザインを勉強している学生ですが、建築にも大変興味を持っており、この本は将来に対する大きな希望とモチベーションを与えてくれました。様々なメディアを通して建築家達の作品を見ることは容易ですが、彼等の学生時代に言及した言葉を聞くことはとても貴重なものです。語り口は様々ですが、モノをつくる人間の創造的な発想や情熱を読み取ることができると思います。 それぞれの母国語（英語あるいはフランス語）による対訳が並記されているので、たいへん役に立ちました。また我々学生にはとてもリーズナブルな価格なので一度手にしてみられることをお勧めします。

仕事について深く考えもせず新卒以来働いてきて、２７歳になって改めてこれからの人生やキャリアを考えたときに、読んだ本です。

「ポンピドー・センター」を設計したレンゾ・ピアノや「ルーブル美術館」のガラスピラミッドをつくったペイといった世界の建築家たちが、どんな青年時代を過ごしたのかが、インタビュー形式で書かれていて、とても読みやすく共感がもてます。

ただ、複数の世界的建築家のインタビューを一冊で読めるという手軽さの反面、一人一人を深く掘り下げたものを読みたい方には不向きだと思います。

この本を手にして１年後、転職を果たしましたが、仕事の実践に役立つ本というよりも、心の栄養となる本です。

いわずと知れた建築の巨匠たち。対話形式による本書は、それら注釈もきめ細やかで
建築が専門ではない私にとってもとてもわかりやすいものでした。
その語りは読書ながら臨場感さえ感じられるようですばらしい。
もはや建築というカテゴリーを超え、
ものをつくることへの大きな勇気になるものと感じます。
