基礎コースと名付けられたシリーズであるが、
財政学に必要な知識と考え方が必要にして十分なレベルで学べる良書である。

理論のみならず、日本あるいは世界の財政の具体例を多く取り上げ、理解度を高めている。

また、教科書にありがちな、事実を並べてよしとする姿勢ではなく、
現在の財政における問題点も中立的な立場から的確に述べられており、

読者に問題意識を投げかける部分もあり、今後の応用的な学習をする道しるべともなるであろう。

初学者のみならず、財政を専門として学ぶ者や財政運営に携わる人々に広く読んでもらいたい一冊である。
