この書籍のタイトルの記述どおり「教科書」です。大事な部分についての解説は
省かれています。この書籍を理解するために別の書籍を購入しないといけない感じです。

書籍どおりに操作をしてもできない箇所が多く、スムーズに操作ができません。
「自分がこうやったら出来ちゃった」を書籍にしているような感じで、
自分の知っているやり方だけを紹介している感じです。
出来上がった内容を検証をしていないのではと思わせます。
腹立たしさを感じることが多く、独学、教材としては不向きと思いました。

同じ金額をかけるのであれば、
GIMPフォトレタッチバイブル―フリーソフトでここまでできる! (英和MOOK) (大型本)
GIMPですぐデキる!フォトレタッチスーパーテクニック (2006) (ムック)
が理解しやすかったです。

この書籍に限らずですが、何も書かないことを良しとする書籍が多いように思えます。

勉強になる箇所もありますが・・・・・

いざ画像など作るとなると、？？？？？？となります。

なぜか、実践的、実用的じゃないからだと思います。


個人的感想ですが、趣味で楽しむ画像処理などにも、力不足の本ですし、
ましてや、WEBショップの方には何の役にも立ちません。

がっかりです。この本は、初心者の方にも、中級者の方にもおすすめできません。
初心者の僕でも、３０分で物足りなさを感じました。

GIMPの最新版と、テキストで紹介しているサンプル画像の入ったROM付き。
無料でいろんなことが出来ると言うものの、GIMPは操作に癖があり、
なかなか使いこなせずに悪戦苦闘、仕舞いには諦めてアンインストールなんてこともあります。
これは小難しい話は抜いて、本当に必要な操作を丁寧に説明してあり、まさしく教科書。
誰が読んでもGIMPを理解できる解説です。
GIMPは旧バージョンの時からテキストは出ていましたが、これが一番お奨めですね。

星４つです。
