2004.12.27にAMAZONから届きました。
GIMPの本は他にもってますが、この本は図、写真を多用し、豊富はサンプルを手順をおって説明しているので、フォトレタッチに不慣れな自分にはあってました。

フォトレタッチの世界はトーンカーブやらチャンネル、マスク等の専門用語オンパレードで、ちょっと自分にはとっつきにくいのですが、ステップバイステップで写真を入れてくれると効果が見れて非常に判りやすいです。初歩的なフォトレタッチや、マスクをふんだんに使っての合成処理等織り交ぜ、GIMP初心者が基本を抑えるにはばっちりの内容と感じました。

またGIMPに関してはサンプルを見て、正直すごいなーっと実感。フリーでここまで出来てしまうなんて。自分も腕を磨いて、サンプルのようなフォトレタッチや合成・アート系にも挑戦したいです。
願わくばGIMP2.0のWindows版(もちろん日本語版)が早く安定して供給されれば、尚グーなのですが。

　月刊誌「WINDOWS100%」で連載されていた様々な実践的ですぐに使えるテクニック(一枚の写真を見栄えのある一つの「作品」に作り上げてるような)をまとめた本です。私は連載の方も全て購読していましたが、こちらのほうが初心者の私にもたいへん分かりやいように内容が整理されています。操作の手順も以前より親切・丁寧になっていました。GIMPの入門書としても最適だと思います

photoshopでは写真入の分かりやすいムック本がいっぱい出ているのに、何でgimpは･･･、と思っていましたが、探したらありました。豊富な写真でフォトレタッチのテクニックを詳細に説明してあるので、とても分かりやすいです。
またよく使いそうなテクニックを厳選して掲載してありますので、入門書としても使えます。ただ、女の子の写真をたくさん使っているので、職場でパソコンの傍らに開いておくのはなかなかはばかれます。その点だけ残念です。
今後、photoshopのようにもっといろんなテクニックを掲載した本が出てくるといいと思います。
