精神的な葛藤がとてもよく描かれている作品でした。
孤独の寂しさ、周囲から取り残されることの焦燥感、異性への鬱屈した思い。どれも多かれ少なかれ誰もが抱いているものだと思いますが、ここまでストレートに表現できるのは凄いです、自分にとっても共感できるような部分があまりに多いので、一気に読んでしまいました。
それにしてもこの主人公、ネガティブなようでかなり行動力があります。どんなに追い詰められてもひきこもらずにちゃんと社会と、自分と向き合っている、それゆえのネガティブのように思えます。どんなに辛くても後ろ向きな考えにとらわれてしまっても、常に前進していこうという思いはいつでも持っている、根の強い人間です。そんなところに慰められ、時に勇気をもらえる。ただの鬱漫画かと思えば全く逆でした。現代社会に疲れた人たちの抗鬱薬のような作品です。

「訴えたいことが無いんです」と言ったのは松尾スズキだっただろうか。
確かにこれは現代版まんが道です。

自分自身、漫画家志望だった時期がある身として非常に身につまされる作品でした。
「まんが道」の二人のように、Ｚ旗掲げて突き進むようなエネルギーが欲しい。
だけど、できない。燃える様な情熱はなく、ほんの少しの自信と、その裏返しである膨大な劣等感。
これらウジウジとした感情が綿々と綴られています。

青林工藝社らしい不条理漫画を多く描いてきた作者ですが、図らずも既出作品とは
真逆に位置する極めてリアルな作風で魅力を発揮しました。
「負け組」だの「下層社会」だのと言った、取ってつけたような言葉よりも
ずっと説得力のある現実が味わえます。
いきなり結婚してしまうあたり、ああそんなもんだよね、脈絡なかったりするよね、と妙に納得してしまったり。

万人に勧められる作品ではありませんが、表紙の雰囲気に引き寄せられるものがあった方は是非。

私もモーニング連載「僕の小規模な生活」が好きになって、本作品を買いました。
大傑作。
これほど心揺さぶられる漫画は本当に久しぶりです・・・
繊細でやさしい作者が、みじめで不安定で失敗だらけの青春を力強く生き抜いてゆきます。
「くるしい、くるしい・・・」とつぶやく姿に昔の自分を思い出します。
漫画家になれてほんとによかった・・・
