表紙のお月さまは触ってみたくなります。
そして、題名の通り味わってみたくなるお月さまです。
お月さまに近づこうと『おおきなかぶ』よろしく動物達大集合。
でも、最初にカメの上にゾウが乗るところで、もうハラハラ。
「お月さまを味わう」という点でうちの子たちもすぐにこの本を手に取りました。
もちろん、各々味わいましたとも。
私はお月さまをかじってしまった音に感動し、
子どもはラストのオチに感嘆していました。
色使いが見事で、触覚、聴覚、嗅覚、味覚も揺り動かされます。
グレイニエツさんが６年ほど前来日された時の記事で
そのお人柄に感銘をうけていたのですが、
今回初めてその作品に出会い、あらためてその素晴しさに
感動しました。
もっと早くチェックしておくべきでした・・・。

はじめ、２歳の長男が図書館で借りてきて、毎晩毎晩よみました。返す日に、泣くので、いけないこととはしりながら、何回も借りなおし。６回目の借りなおしのときに、買おう！と決心して買いました。それからも、半年間毎晩読み続けました。６年経った今でも、わたしはほとんど空でいえるほどおぼえてしまいました。そして、その半年のあいだ、おなかにいたのが長女（現在５歳）。彼女が１歳のときに、アカチャン絵本のほかに、絶対といっていいほど
手にとったのが、この本でした。「おなかのなかにいるときから、だいすきだったんだもんね~」と、いまでも、長女が、この本をもってきます。わたしたちにとって、いちばん大切な本のひとつです。

夜の空のまーるくて大きいお月さまを、かめと仲間の動物たちが高い山に登って、食べようとするおはなし。最後は、ついに、、、？
文章も、リズムがあってわかりやすく２才ぐらいの子供でも喜んでくれます。そして、なんと言っても絵がステキ。切り絵で表現された絵は、見てるだけでお月さまの気持ちまでわかるようで、うれしくなっちゃいます。
