小池 一夫
大学卒業後、現代小説家・山手樹一郎氏に師事。1970年『子連れ狼』の執筆以来、小説、漫画原作、映画・テレビ・舞台等の脚本、作詞等、時代劇から現代もの、ゴルフものまで、幅広い創作活動を続ける。72年、(株)小池書院(旧社名スタジオ・シップ)を設立。77年から約10年にわたり「小池一夫劇画村塾」を開塾、後進の指導にあたり、多くの作家を育成。ゴルフ誌『アルバトロス・ビュー』主宰。2000年、大阪芸術大学映像学科教授に就任(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

「子連れ狼」など数々の名作を生み出してきた小池一夫さんが、自らの経験をもとにキャラクターをどう活かすかについて実践的に書かれた本です。
基本的には漫画原作においてのキャラクターの活かしかたではあるが、小説やシナリオなど創作するものならなんでもこの本に書いてあることは、活かすことができる。
実際に小池一夫さん自身が実践されているキャラクターボックスという技術の紹介や、キャラクターを魅力的なキャラクターに育てるには、どんな設定が必要かなど具体的な例をもちいて説明されている。
他にも、書けないときの気分転換の方法や、庵野秀明さんや高橋留美子さんのキャラクターについてのインタビューも載っている。
魅力的なキャラクターを作りたい人には、読んで損のない本です。
