MCPの受験を考えていた頃、会社の先輩から｢受けるならこれ｣と薦められたのが、通称『赤本』と呼ばれているこの本でした。
実はそれ以前にも一度試験を受けたことがあり(落ちましたが)、その時使っていた参考書もまだ手元にありました。しかし、落ちたときの参考書以外で勉強してみようと思い、この本を購入して勉強を始めました。

この本がよいな、と思ったのは、実際の試験を意識して書かれていると感じる個所が多かったことです。
ただ、章末問題や巻末の模擬試験だけでは、知識を定着させるには足りないかもしれません。私自身この本とは別にもう1冊問題集を買いました。ただ、教科書としては満点に近いと思います。

結局、この本を往復1時間の通勤時間を利用して1ヶ月くらい勉強しました。問題集!も同じくらいの時間をかけたと思います。そして努力の甲斐あって無事合格しました。
現在でも、自分のPCの設定などをする際にリファレンスとして使っています。

既にMCPを取得済みで「Win2Kトラックも取らなくちゃ。でもあまり勉強する時間ないし・・・」と言う人には、この本のシリーズの特徴の通り、程よくまとめがしてあります。 ただし、内容はかなり絞り込まれていますから、この本以外にも実機でセルフトレーニングをしてみたり、他のドキュメントを読む必要もあると思います。

この本だけで受かろうと思うのは、ちょっとつらいかもしれない。（この本だけで受かった、と言う人はそもそも受かるだけの知識があったと言うことかもしれない。） moh

初めてのMCPテストで2000proを選び、正直いろいろな書籍を購入しましたが、MCPを受験されるのであればこの本がお勧めです。本の中で要約されているものはOSのヘルプ機能と併用して使うことをお勧めします。
