昭和28年(1953年)、新潟県栃尾市(現・長岡市)生まれ。拓殖大
学政経学部を卒業後、慶應義塾大学大学院法学研究科で「憲法と安全保障」を学
ぶ。宏池会(大平正芳事務所)勤務を経て自由民主党本部勤務。全国組織委員
会で党組織の整備・強化のため研修活動等を担当。政務調査会で農林・水産、
憲法、沖縄、安全保障政策等を担当。橋本龍太郎政調会長の政調会長室長、橋本
総裁の総裁担当を務めた。現在、政務調査会首席専門官として国防・安全保障政
策、憲法、国家戦略本部、テロ対策等を担当。慶応義塾大学大学院法学研究科講
師(日本の安全保障講座担当)。著書に『なぜか誰も書かなかった民主党研究』
(成甲書房)、『新憲法はこうなる』(講談社)、『人間の品格』『政治と危機
管理』(共著・内外出版)、『日本の連立政権』(共著・振学出版)『憲法と安
全保障』『日米安保と極東有事』(南窓社)等多数がある。

　自民党職員の目から見た民主党の問題点を綴ったブログを纏めた本であり、当然のことながら自民党よりである。それにしても、反自民のみで集まっている民主党の問題点については間違いないのだから仕方がない。

　労働組合頼みの組織であるため、労組から強い圧力がかかると選挙公約を突然修正したり、脱労組を図った前テカさんが潰されたりと話題には事欠かない。その他、メール事件やペパーダイン大学事件、覚醒剤事件。メディアの民主党よりの姿勢も批判している。

　その他、国会に出ない小沢氏、口が軽い鳩山(兄)氏、デタラメ演説とブーメランの管氏の裏話など。内容としては、普段ネットで読んでいたことの再確認＋アルファちょっとといったところだった。

自民党職員（政務調査会首席専門官）の書いた民主党研究です。従って立場上批判的な記述が多いのですが、実証的・冷静な文章なので読みやすかったです。

冒頭に小泉元首相の秘書官をしていた飯島さんとの対談があります。「安倍内閣は支持率１％になっても歴代内閣で一番安定している」というところは飯島さんの面目躍如たるものがあります。

また、最後の章で学生サークルからの依頼で行なった講演の記録があります。

第1章では支持母体が労働組合で、議員は旧社会党、旧自民党、旧新党さきがけ等出身がいろいろであることの難しさが書かれています。

第2章では支持母体の「連合」との関係が書かれています。

第3章は郵政解散総選挙、第4章は前原新代表について、第5章はガセネタメール事件、第6章は民主党議員の不祥事、第7章は小沢さんについて第８章は菅直人さんについて書かれています。

巻末には民主党の略年表もあります。

一読して、民主党についての理解が深まった感じがしました。

政治の素人の私にも、民主党の現状がよく分かるとても読みやすい本でした。

前原氏の顛末、永田氏のメール騒動、小沢氏の考えなど、とても興味深い内容が書かれているので、最後まで一気に読めました。
