今まで何冊も摂食障害について本を読んできたけれど
一番自分の気持ちを理解してくれている内容だと思った
摂食障害を肯定するという内容はショッキングだったけれど
過食していても少し気持ちが楽になった
子どもが摂食障害に悩んでいる親にもぜひ読んでほしい

この本は摂食障害に苦しむ若い人にはありがたいものかもしれない。
でも、「３０代、４０代になっても過食嘔吐を続けている人たちがいた。あのようにはなりたくないと思った。」という患者さんの告白を読んで三十路の私は行き場を失ってしまいました。
今は、一見普通の幸せな家庭で育った人が摂食障害になるケースが増えているとは聞いています。でもやはり、家庭が荒れていて、暴力をうけていた、とか里子にだされた、という人もたくさんいるのです。３０代４０代で苦しんでいる人もたくさんいるのです…

過食にはお金もかかるしトイレも汚れる。
一番つらい立場なのに家族には非難され、さらに罪の意識を持ってしまう。
それでも過食がやめれないのはなぜ？

この本の著者は、過食を大切にしよう、と言っています。
過食があるから死なないで済んでいるのです。
生きていく上で過食は必要なのです。
過食に陥ったココロの在り方を考え、人生の一部として捉えていく。
その言葉が印象に残りました。
ココロのキズを癒す心理学的アプローチと、
医学的な見地から病気を治していく試みとの両方が
バランスよく書かれている本だと思いました。

とても明るく前向きに摂食障害をとらえているので
何か幸せな感じになりました。
