4.0 out of 5 stars 透明感のあるＣＧと鉱石のコラボに感性が心地よく刺激される, 2005/6/14
元々たむらしげるさんのファンなのですが、これほど出版を待った本はありません。

アクアマリン、ルビー、トパーズ、蛍石など、氏がインスピレーションを受けた鉱石からイメージされたストーリーの数々は、原石を見ながら空想をふくらませた、自分の懐かしい思い出とも重なります。
（もちろん、氏のシリーズの中でも人気のキャラクター、「ランスロット」と「博士」も出てきます）

しかし、なんといってもすばらしいのはＣＧと鉱石が見事に調和したイラスト。
ある時は神殿の中に、ある時は砂漠の中に…。
氏の独特な青の使い方がプラスされ、清涼感のある静かな、静かな世界が広がっています。

静かな雨の夜などに、じっくり浸りながら読みたい一冊です。
できれば２冊買って、一冊は読書用に、もう一冊はイラスト観賞用にしたい作品です。

鉱物写真をもとに、ロボット、土星、スターヘッド、銀河系など、
たむらさんの世界ではおなじみのモチーフが散りばめられた大人の絵本。

表紙を見ればわかる通り、鉱物写真はCGで加工されてはいるが、
現物のリアルなイメージは残したままだ。

たむらさんは、限りない透明感や、鮮やかな光の表現が持ち味なのですが、
そこに至る前の、イメージの原点が伝わってくるところが興味深い。

組み合わされる人や動物などは、表情がわからないくらい小さく
描かれているので、相対的に山脈のごとく巨大な鉱物が現れる。

鉱物の複雑な光をボーッとながめていると、意識がその中に吸い寄せられて、
とりとめの無い想像の世界に浸ってしまった経験はないでしょうか？

たむらさんが、そんな想像の世界をしっかりとした物語に定着させてくれた。

本を開けば安心してそこに入っていけるのが嬉しい。

この本を読んで、真っ先にヘッセの『ガラス球演戯』を思い出した。
限りある生命に比し、鉱物は永遠に繋がり、
スタティックな、しかし冷たく哀しい光を放つ。

しかし読み込んでいくにつれ、たむらしげる氏の幾何学的世界が
どこか人間臭く、ほんのりと温かく感じられてくるのは不思議だ。
その矛盾した印象が、氏の人気の秘密かもしれない。
