4.0 out of 5 stars ヨガ初体験者が読みました, 2004/10/7
ヨガは、いままで少し興味があったものの、なかなか足を踏み入れづらい分野でした。
この本を選んだのは、トップで活躍するアスリート達が参考にしているから、という理由です。
読んでみて「納得」はしました。また、実際にやってみたい！と強く思いました。
ただし、具体的な方法についての解説が少なく（ページ数は割いていますが方法論が少ないです）、肝心の「火の呼吸」についてはほんの半ページだけです。
この本は入門書ととらえて、実際にやってみる場合は、別な本やDVDを参考にしたほうがよさそうです。

ヒクソン・グレイシーやパンクラスの近藤有己などで話題の火の呼吸、クンダリーニ・ヨーガの入門書です。
現在ハリウッドの女優などを中心にヨガブームになっており様々なタイプのヨガが広がっていますが、このヨガは他とはひと味違います。
鼻で一分間に200~250回もの腹式呼吸をすることによって内蔵を活性化させます。

最初はなかなかうまくできませんが、根気強くやれば出来るようになります。
私はこれをやりはじめてから風邪をひかなくなりました。
スポーツ選手や格闘家などのイメージが強いですが、健康や美容のために一般の方にもお薦めです。
この本だけでも学習できるようになっていますが、無料講習会もありますのでやはり直接指導を受けるのがいいと思います。

ヨガのアサナについてはいずれも写真で掲載されている。
また、５分間エクササイズとして短時間におこなうためのメニューも用意。
ただ、残念なのが「火の呼吸法」自体の解説が少ないことである。
実際に著者のいう方法になっているのかの実感がわきにくい。
ただし、ヨガの自習本としてはきちんと分解写真となっているので内容は
悪くないと思う。
