　辛酸なめ子（ＳＮ）を語る時、どうしても夭逝したナンシー関（ＮＳ）のことが頭をかすめる。「まだまだ死ぬべき人ではなかった」というナンシー関への熱い思いが、どうしても辛酸なめ子に対する比較的視線、あるいは期待過剰を生んでしまうのだ。辛酸なめ子にとってはこの上なく迷惑なことだろうが。
　両者とも人物批評の才を持ちながら、その資質は対極的とも言える。ナンシー関の「アッパー」「乾」「理」「客観」「精巧な消しゴム版画」に対し、辛酸なめ子は「ダウナー」「湿」「情」「主観」「へたうまイラスト」。もっとも異なるのはナンシーがその巨体風貌により性差や美醜を超越していたのに対し、辛酸はその「女性」性（嫉妬心とか）がウリである点だ。ナンシーは批評対象と別の位相に自らを置くが、辛酸は“同じ女性として”対象者に批評を加えるのである。それはＳＮとＮＳの自意識の持ち方の違いでもある。男性である僕は、ナンシーの人物批評を読むとき、ナンシーの自意識を意識することなく、99%の確率で共感したが、辛酸を読むときは「女性はこう考えるものなのか」とその文脈を読み、70%の確率で感心する。ナンシーは多分、自意識なんか超越して、99%の人々の共通意識を批評として的確に吐き出す「精密客観批評装置」という稀有な存在だったのだ。
　ただ、今の時代、ラカンの命題「女は存在しない」に準えれば、「女しか存在しない」時代であり、辛酸なめ子言うところの「ガーリィ」や「ファムファタル」といった女性感覚に対する鋭敏さは貴重だと思う。そこが、ますます辛酸なめ子から目が離せない所以なのだ。

ＢＵＢＫＡ連載の「万華鏡」をまとめたものですが、前半は
アイウエオ順アイドル万華鏡、後半は相撲あり氷川きよしあり
押尾学ありの突撃レポート風。ただやはりなめ子氏の真骨頂は
前半の万華鏡でのアイドルめた切り。安部麻美さんはイキナリ
かわいそ~なトップバッター。牧瀬・ハセキョーなど抱腹絶倒。
前半だけでも読む価値あり。

ナンシー関さんがお亡くなりになられた後、ホントに寂しく思ってましたが辛酸なめ子さんがいるからもう困る事はありません。と強く感じさせてくれた真髄と言って過言ではない本です。ナンシー関さんはストーレートな表現でしたが、なめ子さんは相手を敬いつつ・・・・的確に決定打を与える。時々覗かせる素敵な妄想の数々にも拍手です☆☆☆特に池脇千鶴、美川憲一、押尾学・・・・は最高でした。こんなに笑える本は稀です。珠玉の作品だと言って過言ではありません。
