ホームレスは固定されたものではなく、ホームレスという状態にあるというだけだと認識することがホームレス問題を考えるきっかけになるというメッセージが漫画によってわかりやすく解説されています。
同じ人間でありながら、路上生活を余儀なくされ、福祉からも見放されている状態でも、行政や支援者の支援によって自立ができることをわかりやすく、しかしそのために越えなくてはいけない課題をしんみりと伝えてくれます。
戦災孤児から日雇い労働者からホームレスのカマやん、リストラされた元会社員、学校になじめずふわふわしているだけの青年などホームレス問題の理解に役立つ一冊です。ただ、具体的にどうすればいいのかは、ホームレス問題が今日ほど話題になる前の本ですので、物足りなさもあるかもしれません。
