○幸福は、いつも「いま　ここ」にある。
（このことを、私はつい忘れます）

○全てのことは「変化する」ということを受け入れて、
　進化し続け、前進し続ける勇気をもつ。
（この愛は永遠だと信じたいけど、そう思う私も変化しているのね）

○肉体的にも、精神的にもありのままの自分を受け入れ、
　日常的に努力し、工夫し、実践していけば、
　「その中にこそ実は」幸福がある。
（幸福は目的ではなく過程だ、ということに気づきにくいわね）

○この本には、幸福になるための考え方の要点、実践する項目、
　幸福になれない理由などが、簡潔に書かれている。
（私は、まず、だめな自分を受け入れます）

よくある「あなたはそのまんまでいいのよ」系のエッセイかと思ったら、とんでもなかった。
女性ならではの悩みにふかーく分け入ってくれながら、解決法がとても温かく、そしてシャープに指摘されていて、目からウロコが落ちる箇所がたくさんあった。
著者は、パリで大人気の作家で、ラジオのDJもしているという、酔も甘いもわきまえ成熟した女性。いつのまにか、読者の私たちが自分の中から気づきを得られるように誘導してくれる。
このインテリジェンス！　
女性の悩みに国境や年齢はないこと、その解決法も同じであることがよく分かる。
毎日、1項目ずつ読みたい1冊。
表紙などのイラストが、とってもおしゃれ。

マリ・ボレルと言えば、この本と同じく浅岡夢二・訳の「81のレッスン」シリーズでも知られている、フランスで人気のベストセラー作家。
と言いつつ、実は、私はどちらかと言うと浅岡夢二の訳文が目当てで手に取った。
翻訳された本を読む時に、訳文が生硬だったりすると非常に読みづらくて辟易するものだが、この翻訳家の場合はそういうことがまずない。
この本も、期待通りの美しく読みやすい訳文を堪能することができた。
そして、肝心の内容はと言うと、商品説明にもある通り、まさしく「とても読みやすいのに、不思議と奥が深い」と言うに尽きる。
著者の経歴にも、「幅広い見識と、親しみやすい人柄」と書いてあるが、本当に、「物事のよく分かった、優しくて頼りになる、人生の先輩」から、「ねえ、こんなふうにしてみたら、今よりもっともっと幸せになれるんじゃないかしら？　どう、やってみない？」と、温かく語りかけられているような印象だ。
思わず、「ついていきます、マリ姐さん！」と言いたい気分になってしまう（笑）。
文中に差し挟まれたイラストもおしゃれで、全体的に「エスプリ」という言葉が脳裏をよぎる（のは私だけではないはずだ）。
「軽く読んで、それで終わり」という単なる癒し本ではなく、読み進むうちに、深く自分の心を見つめて、変なこだわりや引っかかりをゆっくりゆっくり解きほぐしていって、最後には、「よ〜し、身軽な心で新しい一歩を踏み出すぞ！」という気持ちになれる──そんな一冊。
幸福というものについて一度でも考えたことのある人なら、一読して損のない本ではないかと思う。
