5.0 out of 5 stars K&Rとともに、一番参照回数が多い本です, 2006/4/21
C言語の文法的に困ったときはK&Rを見ます。
そして圧縮の方法ってどんなのがあったかな？乱数の乗数合同法とかもっといい方法は？CRCの計算方式は？ルンゲクッタ法って何？などアルゴリズムに悩んだ時はまず最初にこの本を見ます。

また特筆すべきが索引が非常に充実している！ということです。
この本ほど索引が充実してる本は見たことがありません。太字が本当に解説してるところ、細字が関連して出てくるページ、と非常にすばやく知りたい情報にアクセスできます。

今となっては少し古さと不便さも感じますが（例えば乱数ではメルセンヌツイスターがない。暗号は弱い、MD5とかDESとかAESなどがない）それでも持っていて損はしない本だと思います。

科学計算を仕事にしてなくても、普段のプログラムで特殊な計算を実装する場合は多々あります。
本書は読み物というより辞書そのもので、問題に直面した時に威力を発揮してくれます。

私を含め、意外にプログラマーであっても数学の苦手な方は多いので、
即戦力となる本書は手放せません。

ＣＤは付いてませんが、修正済みの全ソースがＨＰから一括ＤＬできるので便利です。

「Ｃによるアルゴリズム．．．．．」と云う表題の書籍は数多くあるが、特に科学計算関連のＣプログラムを書く人にとってはベストの書籍である (他の書籍は、余り役立たない)。参考文献が記述してある項目も多くて良い。ミスプリントは非常に少ないが、完全に零ではないので、参考にして作成したプログラムを良くテストしてください。(例：４３２頁の rnd() の返り値は、0 < rnd() < 1 では無くて、"0" が含まれる)。広い意味での科学関連のＣプログラムを書く人は、必ず座右に置くべき本である。
