早くも名作の呼び声も高い「スウィングガールズ」の絵コンテ集です。
矢口監督自身の書き下ろしで、友子や拓雄たちの姿がかわいいイラストで生き生きと描かれています。撮影用に描かれたコンテに注意書きを加えて完全収録しているので、これから映画を撮りたい人にも参考になると思います。それにしても監督の絵の上手さ。イラストレーターとしてもやっていけるんじゃない？

　「スウィングガールズ」はすべての場面に渡って監督の配慮が行き渡った作品だった事がよくわかりました。全体の流れやテンポに配慮して使わないシーンもあるのですね。
　それにしても、頭の中にこういった映像が次々に浮かんでくるのですから、やはり映画監督は天才の仕事ですね。

~とにかく、最初は通して読んじゃおう。
スタッフ向けという本来の目的を忘れさせる親しみやすい絵柄、一気に読めちゃいます。
映画より先に読むと面白さ半減なので、それだけ注意。でもまあそんなヤヅいねえっで。

ロケ地の情報を完全にふまえた、緻密な構図にも注目。
お腹をこわした吹奏楽部員がめざす、球場のトイレの位置はこっち↓とか。
バイト~~先のスーパー駐輪場に、ガールズは左手の奥から回り込んでくる→とか。
主人公の友子が走ってくる雪の道＝夏の終わりに仲間と先生を追っかけたのと同じ場所とか。
（あ、そういえば確かに）
絵コンテから「そのまんま」映画の完成版がイメージできるなんて。現場はさぞ大助かりだったでしょう。

そして「その日のコンテはその日に切る」監督の姿勢に脱~~帽。
暗いうちから起きて、撮影開始までに描き上げる。はじめから全編分なんて用意しない、常にロケ地の最新状況を取り入れてゆく。
楽じゃない。でもこの地道な努力の積み重ねが、あのスピーディーな展開の原動力なんだ。

読むほどに楽しめて、矢口式演出に理解が（愛も？）深まるオトクな一冊です。~
