寅さんの写真と共に、寅さんの言葉が。
読めば10分程度ですべて読めてしまうだろう。

言葉だけでは、こんなに説得力がないのだろうなぁ。
寅さんの表情を見て、無意識に寅さんが語るあの名調子を想像して、
思わずニンマリしてしまう。
「そうだ、そうだよな」という具合に腑に落ちる感じ。
言葉が胸にしみるとは、こういうことなのだ。

「労働者諸君、田舎の両親は　お元気か。たまには手紙を　書けよ」

男はつらいよに関する名言集は過去に何度も読んだことがありますが、
それらと比べて今回の名言集はより素晴らしいものになっていると思います。
ひとつの名言にひとつの写真がついているのですが、その写真が寅さんの名言を引き立てる写真ばかりなのです。
改めて寅さんの一言を楽しめる、あるいはまた新しい発見をさせてくれる素晴らしい一冊です。

炉辺の幸せ。労働者の美しさ。普通の人間の美徳。
そういったことを、この飽食時代に
平和にすぎるこの国で、素直に価値を認めるのはとても難しい。
ともすれば、山田洋次作品に共通する
過剰な労働者賛美が鼻につくこともあろう。
寅のことばとて例外ではない。

しかし、そうであったとしても
寅が発することばに何の共感も感動も得られなかったとしても
昭和を生きたアウトローの姿は、ビジュアルとして単純に格好良く
モノクロの写真に重ねられた平易な言葉の数々は、ただ美しい。
それだけでもこの価格は良心的だと思う。
残業の友に最適な一冊。
