この本は、あのコマンドの引数って何だっけ？とかこのコマンドってどんな文法だっけ？というような場合に手元にあれば参照できる程度です。はっきり言ってオンラインヘルプを見た方が圧倒的に早い場合もあって利用する機会がほとんどありません。これからはじめる人や、デバッガの仕組みを知りたい人にはがっかりする内容かと思います。オンラインヘルプを活用してない人で、手元に印刷物として持ちたい人には丁度いいかも。

GDBは奥が深い。
セルフデバッグをするか、リモートデバッグをするか。
JTAGを使うかどうか。
特に、リモートの場合で、クロスコンパイルの場合は、アセンブラの理解も必要になる。

ps.
オープンソースのソフトウェアの解説であれば、ソースコードの説明が欲しい。
また、GDBの試験プログラムのソースコードもつけて欲しい。

コマンドのリファレンスとして使うものなのだろうか。

そろそろ逃げずにまじめにgdbとかいじらんといかんか．
とか思って書店であさってたらこんな書籍が出てました．
基本的にはオライリーのうっすい系リファレンス的書籍です．

デバッガーってなにするもの? OSとアプリケーションってどうできてる? とかそういうことがわかってる以外に入門書的に買うのは辛いかも?
ただし「昔はUNIX/Linuxで開発とかやってたんだけどもう忘れちゃったよー」みたいな人にはちょうどいいんじゃないかと思います．
