一人暮らしをはじめて半年後に必要性に迫られて購入しましたが、3冊とも本当に重宝しています。写真や文字が大きくて見やすく、調理をしながら目を凝らさなくてもOKです。メニュー以外にも、各分野（イタリアン、和食、など）の基礎知識が載っているので、お料理初級者でも安心して作れます。特にイタリアンの本の中で、調理器具・材料が大きく写真入りで載っているページなどは、役に立ちます。ビジュアル的にも従来の料理本とは違い、おしゃれなレイアウトになっています。基本的なメニュー（特殊な調味料が必要ない）が多いのでそのうち慣れてきたら本を見ずに自分のレパートリーに加えられると言う点でも長く使え、でも、ただのシンプルなメニューではなくプラスワンのおしゃれさがあると思います。そして一番大事なことですが、どのメニューもおいしいです。私は引越祝いパーティの際、この本のメニューから5品作りましたが、手早くできる上、おいしくてお友達に驚かれました。とにかく料理嫌いも料理が楽しくなれる本です。

とにかく、文字が大きくて文章が簡潔で分かりやすい。メニューも多すぎず、基本的なものだけなので、この本全てのメニューを制覇するぞ！という気にさせられます。オレンジページから出ているので、出来上がりの味はまちがいなく美味しいですよ。お料理初心者の方にはオススメのシリーズです。

お料理本にしては、文字が大きく、作り方が簡潔で分かりやすく書かれています。メニューも、タイトルに「基本」とあるだけあって、ポピュラーなものだけに絞られていて、多すぎないところが、いいですね。この本のメニューくらいなら、全部作り方を覚えてみようという気になりますよ。オレンジページから出ているので、出来上がりの味もまちがいなく美味しいです。
