ランランがどうしてここまですごいのか・・・。
とても読みがいのある本です。
決して順風満帆に歩んできたわけではない、この中国の音楽事情と
ランランのご両親の子供に対する熱心度。
まさに一歩ずつ進んできて、お父さんもこんなに厳しい人だったんだと改めて知り、
今のあの温和な親子をみていると、ものすごい荒波を超えてきた人の優しさの顔なんだなぁと
改めて思いました。
とにかく読んでいると、はまってしまう。そんな本です。

読み始めてすぐ、映画を観ているよう、と思った。
あまりにリアルで場面場面も目に浮かぶほどでした。
登場人物もそれぞれ個性的にいろんな意味で活躍し
最初「北京のバイオリン」のようなイメージで始まった映画が
それよりずっと長い物語を、最後の一頁まで展開していました。

ランランの父母、祖父母の時代までさかのぼった文化大革命の影響から始まり
「トムとジェリー」や「孫悟空」に見守られた幼少時代、
すさまじい練習風景、師との出会い、別れ、ピアノコンクール、貧困、語学、教育、けが
などなど困難な状況が何度もランランたちの前にたちはだかり
ランランたちは、その度に強く深くなって…
また中国の風景も少し理解できた気がします。

ランランの名前の響きのように、読み終えて爽快な一冊です。

北京オリンピック開会式で演奏した中国人ピアニスト”ラン・ラン”の半生です。
余りに内容が凄まじくて一気読み。
そして，ことあるごとに周りの人にも勧めてます。
ランランは，文化大革命で音楽家の夢を絶たれた両親の一人息子として誕生しました。
両親は，息子にピアノの才能があると見るや，お金をかき集めてピアノを買い与え，
自分たちの人生のすべてを息子に賭けます。
中国の時代背景がそうさせるのか，中国人のキャラクターなのか，
その打ちこみっぷりは，日本人にはあり得ない凄まじさ。
中国国内ではスラム街に住む貧困生活で，近所からピアノの音がうるさいと苦情を言われようと，石を投げられようと，ピアノの弦が切れようと，かまわず練習し続けます。
やがて，ランランはアメリカで花開き，
ピアニストとして成功を収めるだけでなく，人間的にも成長するのですが，
お父さんとの関係の劇的な変化も面白いです。
先日，テレビ番組で，ランランが演奏するメンデルスゾーンのピアノ協奏曲を見ましたが，
ものすごく思い入れの強い，魂を吸い取られるような演奏でした。
観客もスタンディングオベーションで拍手喝采を送っていましたね。
まだ２７歳くらいなんですが･･･すごいとしか言いようがないです。
しかし，彼は成功したからよかったけれども，
中国の同年代の人たちには，様々な分野で，同様の努力をしたのに報いられなかった人たちが
きっとたくさんいるはずです。
才能，努力，運，精神力･･･スターダムにのし上がるには色々な要素が必要なんだなあと
つくづく思いました。
