いつかは、行きつけの店で、ひとり呑みしてみたなあ、と大人のおじさんにあこがれて思っていましたが、これって、なかなか勇気がいるんですよね。この著者も全く同じで、最初は落ち着かなかったとか。しかしある時、酒場を温泉のようにひとりで楽しむ気持ちの持ち方に変えて見ることに気がついたという。なるほど。私もこの言葉に勇気づけられました。近々ひとり呑みにチャレンジしたいと思います。この本は、ひとり呑みするときの心得や、始めていくお店での振る舞い方など、押しつけがましくなく、教えてくれます。そして東京の都心から郊外の町まで、さまざまな大衆酒場をルポ形式で料理と店の店の雰囲気を伝えてくれます。酒の肴の描写もうまそう！と思ってしまうほど文章もわかりやすく上手です。飲んべえにはぜひおすすめの本です。

店の選び方が大衆目線なのがいい。
太田某は、確かにすばらしい店を紹介してくれるのだが、いかんせん知的過ぎる。しかも高い。
たかが酒、されど酒だが、あまり薀蓄を言われるのも嫌。「…酒は静かに呑むべかりけり」ではなかろうか。
まあ、好みの問題でもあるのだが、それでもこちらのほうが気取っていなくていい。
難は、彼のブログでもそうだが、新しい店が発掘されていないこと。まだまだあるのだから、保守的にならずに、吉田類的に、暖簾をくぐる勇気が欲しい。

ブログの再編集。
太田和彦氏の文章の方がより栄える。

名店案内にしても、先達により紹介し尽くされており、
プロの作家ではないため、わざわざこの作品を購入する価値は余り感じない。

他誌又は実地により情報を既得している御仁にはお勧めしない。

ただ、ブログにより、頻繁に居酒屋の情報・感想を更新しているその継続性・努力には
敬意を表する。
