まえまえから読もう読もうと思っていて、結局読めていないカラマーゾフの兄弟が漫画になっていたので買って読んでみたら大当たりでした。
基本的にストーリーを中心に描いているところがあるので、小説と違って深い思想や人物の心の葛藤などは端折っている感があり、整合性の取れていないところも多々ありますが、手軽に楽しむ分にはおすすめで、小説の方も読む気にさせてくれる内容でした。

なぜ「カラマゾフの兄弟」から始めるのか？
実際小説から始めると上巻のイデオロギーに躓く事が多いから。
そこを適当に読み飛ばせば、最期まで読破できますが、真面目に考えすぎて
「自分にはレベルが高すぎる」と考えてしまう読者が出てきます。

次に漫画で荒筋だけでも読んでおけば次の小説にいく準備にもなります。
とにかく大意や荒筋だけでも掴んで下さい。

漫画だから読みやすい、それでいいんじゃないの？
これを読んだ後は漫画「赤と黒」を読んでみてください。
小説のプロットが意外なほどに「カラマゾフの兄弟」にそっくりです。

　つい先日、原作『カラマーゾフの兄弟』を評判の亀山訳で、半年程かかってやっとの事で通読したが、ストーリーのあまりの冗漫さに辟易し、この漫画版でストーリーを復習しようと思った。

　ストーリー展開も早く、すぐに通読できるのはありがたいが、あの長編を僅か漫画本１冊にまとめるのは当然無理がある。原作の大幅なカット（ゾシマ長老の説教）や重要なストーリーの改変もある。次男イワンは別に革命運動がらみで「大審問官」を語った訳ではないのに、これでは彼の思想があまりに矮小化・軽薄化されてしまっている。風貌もこんなイケメン風でなく、眼鏡をかけたインテリ風でなきゃ。また三男アリョーシャのキャラがやたら軽々しく、なんだか少しバカなのではと思える程だ。

　他方、父親フョードルの描き方は原作以上に現実感があり、絵柄もイメージ通りだった。長男ミーチャも中々上手くキャラが描けていたが、当時のロシア将校の風貌としてはやはり髭があった方が良かったと思う。グルーシェンカ、カテリーナの女性陣はほぼイメージ通りで良かった。

　私は原作自体をあまり評価していないので、対時間効率からすれば本書を読んで粗筋を知り、気になった人は、「大審問官」や「ゾシマ長老の説教」などの名場面だけ、原作に当たれば十分だと思う。
