僕も現実の世界で、胸を張ってそのように答えられるように生きていきたい。
しがないサラリーマンが感銘を受けた箇所を引用させていただきました。

原作を二回読んだことがある上、アニメ化されたものや
何人かの漫画家さんによって漫画化もされていて読んできました。
漫画版で泣けたのは初めてです。

原作は鳥を捕まえる人の話などを中心に、不思議な印象のほうが強いです。
本書は現実ではあり得るんだろうかと思うくらいうつくしい友情を
絵で訴えるように表現されていて胸に迫りました。
意地悪な人に対しても、困っているとき命を進んで投げ打って助けたカンパネルラ。
ジョバンニが、
「本当に大切な人のためなら
ほんとうのみんなの幸せのためなら僕の身体なんか
あの蠍のように何百回焼かれてもかまわない……!」
そういわしめたカンパネルラが彼にしたことは
彼をイジメたクラスメイトたちと違って
人間として最低限の敬意を示しただけです。(142ページから)
そんな小さなことであっても彼にとっては大きい。
そんなジョバンニだから、
逆にカンパネルラが困っているときはどんな犠牲を払ってでも、
自分の命と引き換えてでも助けたいと心から思える。

ためされた友情にスポットを当てた漫画化として読めました。

コマ割りが大きく、文字も多くないので読みやすいです。
原作は読んだことないのですが、この本を読んだ感想は「結局この作品は何を伝えたいんだ……」でした。「幸せ」について書かれていることは分かるのですが、読者に何を考えて欲しいかが分かり辛かったです。何故この作品が評価されているのか分かりませんでした。まぁ原作を読めば違った印象にはなるのでしょうが……。
ただ、主旨関係なく１つの作品として読むなら不思議な物語で面白かったです。
