何よりもこの本はストレートに心に響きすばらしい。どこにでも持ち運べるくらいのサイズのうえ中身もシンプル。鮮やかな写真も素敵。人道で迷った時、心がトゲトゲした時にそっと取り出して心を潤す心のリップスティックとして使いたい。

まず私がこの本を読み最初に感じたのは、翻訳がすばらしいと言う事です。
とても解りやすく、又美しい言葉で書かれています。　
語数は非常に少ないのですが、その言葉は強力なエッセンスが充分すぎるほど盛り込まれ、まず一通り読むと自分の歩んできた人生に深く入り込む言葉に出会うでしょう。
自分の歩み感じてきた人生により、とても深い理解が出来るからだと思います。
そして他の言葉たちも探い洞察をもって見ていくと、同じように全ての言葉が、深く重い意味を持っているのが解るようになるのではないでしょうか。
２１世紀の今だからこそもっとも輝き響いているようです。

「人から愛され、人を愛するとき、それがいかに心地よいか、そして逆に怒りや憎しみが心に満ちると、いかに居心地が悪いか観察してみましょう。」

「無関心、ことに他人に対する無関心は、最悪の欠点の一つです。」

「砂に一本の線を引いたとたんに、私たちの頭には、こちら、と、あちら、の感覚が生まれます。この感覚が育っていくと、本当の姿が見えにくくります。」

私達の身体や知能、知識と同じように心も鍛え育てていくものであるのでしょう。

ダライ・ラマ法王の著作は数あれど、この本は鞄の中に入れて持ち歩きたい一冊です。
ちょっとしたときに手軽に読めて、シンプル。でも深く優しい、大きな愛に包まれた法王の言葉に、励まされること間違いなし。
優しくほのぼのとした法王やダラムサラの写真も秀逸です。
