全国４５箇所の廃墟を紹介。監修者の栗原さんは幼少の頃から廃墟の魅力に取り憑かれ、３００件以上にものぼる物件を探索しているという。個人的に本書を見て読む限りでは、やはり物件の歴史に興味がいく。

ある埼玉の精神病院探索では、「知的障害ゆえに犯罪を繰り返し病院送りにされた患者などの切ないドラマがつまる精神鑑定書や、何気なく取ったカルテが院長のものだったという偶然・・・」など、レポートとしておもしろい。

写真はモノクロが中心なので残念だが、カラーも何枚か載せてくれてます。
４ページ目の「軍艦島」のカラー写真は良いですね。

4.0 out of 5 stars 表紙と巻頭グラビアの軍艦島の写真はとても雰囲気があって一見の価値あり, 2003/8/24
廃墟探索の「マニュアル」としてはかなりオススメです。
ただ、写真を見る事をメインで考えると、白黒が大半な事もあり、少々物足りないかもしれません。
白黒の写真もとても雰囲気があるのですが、もう少しだけカラーがあっても良かったかも。
それでも文章は読みやすく、廃墟探索のマニュアルとしては実に親切で丁寧に書かれています。

情報量もかなりのもので、それで1500円は実際お得なのでは、と言う感じ。
廃墟に興味があるなら買って損のない本です。

廃墟を探索するに当たっての注意すべき事項がこと細かく記述されています。廃墟探検に出かける前、トラブルを起こさぬように一読する事をお勧めします。実際の廃墟の場所と、その場所の写真も掲載されていて、高い大きな写真集を見るよりよっぽど価値があるかも？ただし掲載されている写真はモノクロで小さいですが・・・・
