ファーストトンデモ『トンデモ本の世界』は日本の読書界（あるのか！？）に
衝撃と爆笑の渦を巻き起こした。私もそれを存分に楽しんだクチだ。
そして久し振りの、私にとってはセカンドトンデモに当たる本書を紐解いてみたが…
基本的にはいい本だけど、笑うところはあまりなかった。
ツッコミの切れ味もニブリ気味だし、読む側もかなりの知識がないと楽しめない箇所が多いのだ。
大体、帯には「右翼系ベストセラー『戦争論』、左翼系ベストセラー『買ってはいけない』」
とあるが、社会主義が失敗し資本主義もボロ出しまくりのこのご時勢に
右翼も左翼もないだろう。

各項を個別に見てみよう。
小林よしのり『戦争論』を取り上げた箇所。
一人のタクシー運転手の意見を聞いただけでそれが若い日本人の平均的な考えと
断じることの支離滅裂さや、アジア人を「骨抜き」呼ばわりする非礼を指摘しているのはいい。
しかし、歴史的事実の誤認として例示している「レディバード号の撃沈」なんて
よほどの戦史オタクでなければ小林よしのりを支持する人も批判する人も知らないだろう。
恥ずかしながら私も知らない。

同じく『買ってはいけない』の項。「もちろんソルビン酸カリウムとソルビン酸は
まったく性質の異なる物質である」…「もちろん」なんて言われても
あいにく私は山本弘氏ほどの化学知識はないので、それがどの程度の誤りか分からないのだ。
「…と思っていたら甘かった（砂糖だけに）」なんてダジャレ、今時オヤジでも言わないぞ。

齋藤貴男『カルト資本主義』の項。
「だ・である」調で始まった文章が途中から「です・ます」調に変化するので
読者に向けて書いているのか著者に向けて書いているのか混乱してしまった。
高木正幸『差別用語の基礎知識'99』に至っては
本そのものがトンデモなのか本で紹介されている事例がトンデモなのか区別できない。
まさかそれを知りたきゃ原典をあたれ、と言うのではあるまいな。
それじゃいくら楽しいトンデモを紹介されても楽しみようがない。
せっかくジャック・L・チョーカー著／野口幸夫訳
『チェンジウインド・サーガー1　変容風の吹くとき』や阿修羅王『異次元の扉』など
本当に笑って読める項があるだけに、敷居の高さやツメの甘さが惜しまれる。

せめて、末尾に参考文献の一覧くらいは加えた方がよいのではなかろうか。
そうすりゃ読者が自分の頭で考える助けになろうと言うものだ。

過去の作品と、同じ手法で展開しているわけで、読み手に免疫ができるのは仕方ない。
しかし、執筆者人は確実に楽しみながら書いている。会長を筆頭にトンデモ本に対する深い愛を感じるのである。
特にベストセラー斬りは痛快！
しかし、ベストセラーによっては、あまりの確信犯的展開に多少の怒りも入ってか、切れ味が鈍ることもあるかな？
評価の低いレビューでは小林氏の信者が多いようですね。一種、トンデモにとりあげられるオカルト信者ににた空気を感じます。ビリーバーに負けずにがんばれ、と学会！

人気のシリーズだそうで、わりあい面白く読めるのですが、小林よしのり氏の戦争論への反論は、ちょっと他の本へのネタと違って、まともに左翼系のマジ反論文になっちゃってます。このWWWを見よ！と戦争論批判のウェブサイトまで載せちゃったりして。だから、他の「とんでも本」紹介と較べると、とても浮いちゃってる。ちょっと政治的な意図のある本ですね。残念。
