楽しい時も悲しいときも苛立たしい時もあれば
相手の事が分からなくて腹が立つ時もあって冷たくする時もある。
でもずっと傍にいてほしいと願うあたし。

そんなストレートな表現に泣けてきました。
私は、ページをめくる度に涙が溢れて来ました。
悲しい涙とかでは無くな心が溶かされるような涙です。
悲しい場面もありますが、それよりも純粋な愛の表現に感動しました。
また何か愛する者があるって素晴らしい！とも思えた本です。
猫好きな方にはもちろんですが、そうで無くても楽しめる本ですね。

　訳者の江国香織もいうとおり、「我輩は猫である」などに代表される猫目線の物語は多くあるが、これはそれらとは一線を画す普遍的な愛−しかも男女間のものではない−物語だ。

　そういう意味で、猫好き以外の人も楽しめる、そして猫好きには更にたまらない物語だ。

　結末が予想通りのものだったにも拘らず、こんなにも泣かされるとは、著者・そして訳者である江国氏の力量を感じさせられる。翻訳小説につき物の「違和感」を感じさせないのは江国氏ならではだ。

ダルメシアン種の猫の「あたし」と「あたしの人間」の物語。

「あたしの人間」はあたしのもの。
人間はあたしのことをダルシーなんて呼んでるけど、
あたしはあたし。
他の猫なんか飼ってはいけないし、食事中じろじろ見るのもいけない。
でも、散歩にいくときは抱っこしてもらうし、
シーツの下から指を突き出して見せると、
あたしはいつもだまされて飛びかかってしまう。

すてきな愛の物語。
訳もすてきです。

ただ、ラストがちょっと残念だったので、☆１減点。
アメリカ人って、みんなこうなの？
ただ、これは単純にわたしの好みでなかっただけ。
基本的には☆５つ、誰にでもすすめられます。
