　本屋さんで偶然に見かけて、購入することにしました。ちょうど息子も四歳になり、本気で読み聞かせを始めようと思っていた矢先でした。
　この『３６５日のベッドタイム・ストーリー』はタイトルのように、子供のベッドで読み聞かせる３６５話の童話や民話を集めたものです。一話一話のお話はそんなに長くはありません。
　ところが、読んでびっくり。子供への義務感で読み始めた大人も楽しめること請け合い。ケチな爺さん、口やかましい婆さん、ひょうきんな王様……にやにや、ドッキリさせられるキャラクターのオンパレードです。
　こういう話ですと、ちょっと難しくて、子供への刺激が強すぎるのではないかと心配もしました。ところがすぐに、それは杞憂だと気づきます。話の面白さやリズムの良さに子供はすぐに夢中になりました。数年前に、グリム童話が残酷だと指摘した本が売れたと記憶していますが、そういうものを含んでいるのが本当の童話や民話なのでしょう。
　この本には、子供の想像力を育んでくれる本物のお話が溢れています。子供の情操教育で悩んでいる人は、必携ですよ。
　目下の悩みは、子供に必ず二つ以上のお話をリクエストされること。これでは３６５日ももちません。ああ、もう一回最初から読み直せばいいのか……。

民話や童話好きな私ですが、最近、本屋さんで見つけたのが、この『３６５日のベッドタイム・ストーリー』でした。最初は、可愛い表紙に目を惹かれたのですが、内容も充実していました。グリムやアンデルセンなどの有名な童話のほかに、スウェーデンチェコやアメリカ西部など、これまで読んだことのなかった国や地域の話がたくさん載っていました。ユーモアあふれる話が多く、おもわず大笑いしてしまうことも。子供というよりは、むしろ大人むけのビターな話もあったり、とにかく内容が豊富で、毎日楽しんでします。特に「ひねくればあさん」の話は、おススメです。爆笑すること間違いなし!!

自分用に買いました。昔、母によく読んでもらったお話ばかりで、凄く懐かしかったです。
私は幼稚園前から小学校中学年くらいまで読んでもらったお話ばかりです。あまり神経質にならなくても良いのでは?と思いました。
難点としては、自分で寝る前に読むには本が大きめで重いので、横になりながらはきついかな。
