日本における不思議な現象を取り上げた不思議な本です。これでもかと思われるほど、日本におけるナチ・コレクションのマニアの生態を取り上げた本です。取り上げられてい素材は、軍服、兵器マニアからパロディとしてのコミックにまで及んでいます。映画や翻訳の系譜についての部分は、これまで手当たり次第に読み散らかしてきた私の過去の読書遍歴の整理にも役に立ちました。西欧のオリジナルな文脈からかなりの部分切り離された形で、これほどのマニアがこの日本に存在するという現象自体が、ある意味では日本における反ユダヤ主義の土壌の決定的な欠如の証明にもなっているようです。と同時に、このナチカルの日本戦記の代用品としての性格をも間接的に示唆しているようです。この不思議な世界の存在理由を考える上では必読の資料です。
