漫画と文章が交互にあります（圧倒的に文章が多い）。
入門書と言うわりには、地図が載っていないのがイタイですね。資料も巻末付録のところにしか載っていないし……。
内容としては、古事記の流れが大まかには分かりますが、無理に萌え要素を入れているおかげで分かり辛い箇所も多い。古事記をある程度知っている人には理解出来ても、初めて知る人には理解出来ないであろう箇所も……。参考文献も少ないし、研究不足で「入門書」という感じは全くしません。
また、著者自身の意見が文章に見られるのは良いのですが、ちょっとそれは……という意見も見られます。

全く知らない人にはいいかもしれないけど、無理矢理「萌え」というのに結びつけている感が否めません。その為に内容もちょっと無理矢理な感がします。ちょこっと知りたい人にはいいかもしれないですが…

絵もきれいなんだけど、ほぼ全員が不自然なまでの胸の大きさで、そこまでしなくてもいいんじゃないかというのが感想です。

萌え絵で楽しむ本であって、文章はどうでもいい本である。画力のあるマンガ家が主導権を握ったのか、前作の作品よりは面白く見れる。
正直、文章は無視して絵だけで楽しむ本であり、古代史や神代史に関しては他のレビューの方が書かれているように、底の薄さのみが知れるだけである。参考文献が古事記そのものを読まずに、古事記マンガというのは御粗末ではあるが。
ライターの能力ならば☆は一つもつかないが、マンガ家の能力なら☆４〜５という所であろう。
