押し引きの基準や安定して好成績を残している打ち手の打ち筋など、初級者・中級者を一つ上の段階に導く情報が豊富に載せられている。
すべての数値にきちんとした根拠があるのだろうが、省略されていたり自分の感覚とは違っていたりするためか「あれ？」と思う情報もあったが、全体としてちゃんとまとめられており、とても参考になった。

おもしろかったのは巻末でプロ雀士その他が顔を真っ赤にして否定していたこと。
ちゃんと読んでいないのだろうが、一部だけを切り取ってきちんとした根拠も示さず「こんなはずはない」という人の多いこと多いこと。

賛否あるだろうが、麻雀戦術書としてはこれ以上ないくらいの出来である。

前作のレビュー・ＭＪ４攻略大全のレビューを参照すれば必要十分なので
あえてここでは本の内容を踏み込んでレビューはしません。
【前作もセガのＭＪ４攻略大全も買ってない人は文句なく買いでしょう。】

文庫本と聞いていたが前作と＜同じサイズ＞で大きくて読みやすい。
ＭＪ4のレビューで述べた全員に押すすめの部分だけがコンパクトに記載されている。
前作の内容にＭＪ４攻略大全のおいしいとこを持ってきた　おししいとこ満載だ。

ただＭＪ４の単体本はＭＪユーザーで無い人にはボッタクリともいえる構成
（純粋に麻雀プレーヤーに必要なのは30ページ以下。ＭＪ解説・普及の側面が強かった）
だったのでこの本の発売と内容をもう少し早く告知すべきだったのでは？
その点は残念です。

『教えて!科学する麻雀』は『超・入門科学する麻雀』の増補改訂版でした。
内容の違いは6章が旧『研究対象としての麻雀』から今回『MJ4の強者と弱者の打ち筋データ分析』に変わってました
。後は同じです。
内容がほとんど同じだったので、ちょっとがっかりでしたが、麻雀バイブルにふさわしい一冊
