5.0 out of 5 stars レクシス英和辞典が入っている電子辞書, 2006/2/13
使用目的が英和ということもあり、他には和英と国語辞典があれば十分でしたから、一万円を切る廉価で販売されていたため購入しました。

語義と例文を２画面と全画面で切り換えられたり、文中の単語の横断検索や英熟語が検索ができたり、検索履歴が100個まで残るなど、電子辞書としての基本機能はしっかりしています。(発音機能などがない分電池(単4、2本)も長持ちするでしょうか。)

ほとんどの電子辞書に入っている英和はジーニアスですが、この電子辞書にはコミュニケーションを重視した新しいタイプの英和辞書であるレクシスが入っています。使ってみると例文が会話的(＝簡単)で語法も分かりやすいです。日本人には分かりにくい英会話の言外の意味が、例文の訳とは別にハートマークを使って説明されていたりもします。収録語数は９万８千と十分ですが、語源情報がないのが個人的には唯一残念なところです。

レクシス英和辞典の最大の特長とも欠点ともいえるところは、現在使われていないような表現を黴取りと称してカットしてしまっていることでしょうか。ですから、古い文学などの英文を調べるには適していないのでしょうが、逆にこれから英会話のために英語を学ぼうとしているひとや、英語を使っていこうとしているひとには、安心して使用できる辞書ではないかと思います。

（参考までに）
レクシスのうりであった「Planet Board」がこの電子辞書には収録されていませんでしたが、辞書とは別に「詳説 レクシスプラネットボード―103人のネイティブスピーカーに聞く生きた英文法・語法」という形で書籍化されています。また、「類語パネル」はマニュアルの方にまとめて収録されていました。

結構安めだったので購入しましたｏ
見た目は結構可愛いと思ったけど、ちょっと使いにくいところもあったかなｏ
