　論理的思考の養成をうたった本は数多くあります。しかし、「論理的な英語力」というものを明確に打ち出している本、はこれまでに無かったのでは、と思います。何と言っても巻末の例文集が秀逸です。この表現を暗記し始めてから、これまで「できそうでできなかった」、会話文の論理的な接続ができるようになってきました。丹念な読みこなしを要求する本ですが、理解し覚えた表現を使えた時は、なかなか爽快な気分を味わえます。

　ソフトカバーから受ける外見の印象に反し、論理についても英語についてもなかなかハードな内容となっています。また、初学者向けの配慮というのは特になされてません。ですので、英語力（ＴＯＥＩＣ８００程度でしょうか）か論理的思考、少なくともどちらかに自信がないと、この本を読みこなすのは辛いかと思います。

　私は、（著者自身が参考文献としてあげている）野矢茂樹『論理トレーニング』と併読しています。この『鍛える』を読むにあたって、この野矢氏の本は座右にあったほうが良いかもしれません。

本書では英語の論理力をトレーニングすることで、議論・交渉・ディベートに役立つ力がつけられるようになっています。問題演習がふんだんに盛り込まれ、解き進むことで自然に力がつけられます。英語で意思を的確に伝え、相手の意思を的確に読み取ることの訓練が徹底的にできます。これぞ『論理＋英語＝グローバル時代のサバイバルツール』です。

もちろん完全な専門書ではないので説明がやや不足している点もありますが、上記観点でも相当に優れた本で、私にとって偶然買った本でしたが結局コストパフォーマンスがものすごく高い本となりました。
ビジネス書のカテゴリーにも加えてみては？
