　英訳同時掲載なので、わたしが読めるのは1/2だけ。物語はとても短い。あっという間すぎて「あらまあ」という感じである。物語が中途半端というのではなくて、この物語は確かにそこで終わっているのだけど、ぼんやりと未来が見えいる気がした。それはやはり、奈良美智の絵と写真があって、読んでいく端からそれぞれを具体的に形作ってくれているからだろう。とはいうものの、この本に出てくる絵や写真が、物語を限定してしまうことはなかった。文章があり、映像があり、より色鮮やかなひとつの空間を完成させているという感じ。画像も文章も、表現のひとつの方法であるということをひしひしと感じた。英文も読むことができたなら、もうひとつ別の世界を見ることになったかもしれないのに。惜しい。

　わたしはこの人の本を読むたびに、それが再読であっても同じように「すごいなあ」と思う。長くても短くても、そこにきちんと空間が用意されていて、わたしはいつでもそこに行くことができるのだ。まったくすごい。

アルゼンチンババア！なんて目を引く素敵なタイトル。
そのままの雰囲気の装丁と柔らかい雰囲気の物語。
柔らかい雰囲気のままあっという間に読み終わってしまうけど
読後にその柔らかい空気がまわりの残るので
2500円はちと高いけど買っても損はないと思う。

なんでもいいから、ばなな作品が読みたい！と禁断症状が出たため、高いのに買ってしまった。変わった装丁の本になっているが、小説自体はいつもどおり。淡々とした主人公と感激屋さんのアルゼンチンババアが面白い。いるかの墓石のエピソードが泣ける。
