医薬品開発に対する遺伝薬理学の応用に関し，ここ数年急速に関心が高まっている。日本国内においてはまだ様子見とする医薬品企業が多いと思われるが,本誌はファーマコゲノミクスの現状把握のために極めて有用な報告書であり，世界の情勢を把握するための教科書となるものである。ファーマコゲノミクスに関する世界のキーパースンが参加して作られたCIOMSの報告書を，日本から参加したメンバーを中心に翻訳したものであり，ファーマコゲノミクスに関する基礎を学びたい，医薬品開発に携わる産官学すべての方に一読をお勧めする。
