「本の雑誌」の巻頭コラムを２２年分を１冊にまとめた本である。考えがことなるところや、言っていることに矛盾が目立つところもあるが、総じて提言はうなづけることばかりなので、読んで痛快です。

特に「ミステリーの書評や帯でネタをばらすな」という提言には大賛成です。「驚愕の叙述ミステリー~・・・」なんて帯に書かれていると「ああ、この本は叙述ミステリーなのか」と思い読む気がなくなるなど同じようなことがしばしばありますから・・・。

　「本の雑誌」というと”出版界の大久保彦左衛門”のような印象があって”怖い”イメージでした。当然、看板コラムの「巻頭言」も厳しくてバッサバッサと斬りまくっているんだろう、と言う印象でした。

　ところが読んでびっくり。もちろん手厳しい”ご指導”や提言もありますがそれだけではありませんでした。応援メッセージをはじめ、プラス評価のエッセイやおかしい豆話裏話的なものから、おもしろい筆者の個人的なお話などが満載されているではありませんか。こういう本だったの？だってタイトルからして「とびひざ蹴り」なんて恐ろしいものだし・・。このタイトル、お茶目ですね？

　読んで得をしました。おまけに本来の（？）この本の趣旨とおり「出版界の移り変わりの流れ」を俯瞰できましたし。!!大満足です。

　付録：一冊読み上げる頃には親の「本の雑誌」に非常に興味がわいてきて、そちらも先日買いました。これは読書人のみなさんには語る必要ないくらいメジャーですね、きっと。
