オランダ人の倹約的な生活が書かれています。
不要なものは買わない、買ったものは最後まで使い倒す、、という
節約＆エコ精神が高い国なんだな、と思いました。
主婦雑誌のように、具体的ではないので、実用性を求める人には退屈な本かも。
ちょっとした「オランダ人観察日記」のような。

　先祖はオランダ人かもしれないわ。・・・冗談（笑） 必要と考えるものには、しっかりとお金をかける。でもそれ以外は渋れるだけ渋る。例えば服。Ｔシャツなんか１０年以上着てるのもある。それにほとんど買わない。無料でも後でゴミになるものは、できるだけ手にしない。 なんだこの本と同じことしてるじゃん。

　雑誌でよくある節約、収納特集みたいに手軽に読めるつくり。だからマンガみたいに気楽に読めた。割り箸の話しに関しては、森林の間伐材など捨てる木を利用してたりする分もあるので、一概に無駄にしてるわけじゃないけどね。

　「捨てる技術」で無駄にため込むことをやめた私は、この本で＜使い倒す＞倹約にあらためて奮起したのであった。学校とかの休み時間の暇つぶしにもいいかもしれない、手軽にみんなで読めるから。

オランダに興味のある人、エコに関心のある人には絶対おすすめ！の一冊です。
オランダ人の友人がいる私には「そうそう、そうなの！」と同意しながら読めましたし、プププと笑っちゃいました。一方で、「読むだけで禁煙！」と同様に「読むだけで倹約！」を期待して買うと、ちょっと物足りないのかもしれません。
北海道ほどの小さな国で今でも行われている「古きものは良きもの」精神、まねできないけど、素敵だなって思います。
