一応、テキストのリードでは河森メカの流れを追ってる格好になっていて画稿もそれにあわせてダイジェスト的に展開するのだが・・・
準備稿・ラフ・決定稿が綯い交ぜになっている上、河森稿でない画像（劇場版スーパーバトロイド稿は全て宮武稿）まで入っているし、表裏・前後も揃わないものが多く殆ど資料にはならない。
手描きのラフ等なかなか本にならない画稿もあるのだが、それらを順序だてて見せないので効果半減。
編集者がよく知らない人がやっているのが見える作りで、自分に酔ったようなテキストを付ける前に各画像の年代と必要なキャプションを付けてほしい。
少なくとも、各表題のメカの画稿を集められるだけ集めて構成していたムービック版のデザインワークスの方が遥かに実用的で良心的な作りになっている。

自分は河森正治さんがデザインを務めたある作品のファンで
それから河森正治さんという人を知り買いました。

読んでみると色んな作品を手掛けてるんだなぁと驚いた。
そして素晴らしいメカデザインの数々に感動した。
ただ値段がちょっと…。

インタビューとかもありました。
なる程〜とファンなら納得できるような事を言われてるので
オススメかも…。
問題は値段っす…。
