~長らく在庫切れになっていた無線LAN担当エンジニア必携の書。ようやく改訂版が出ました。出版社が替わって、インプレスからの登場です。
従来の無線LAN案件は、実のところプロトコルの知識は伴わずともある程度の勘と経験で設計はできていました。しかし、最近ホットになりつつあるワイヤレスVoIPなどの実現となると、どうしてもIEEE802.11の深い理解が必要になっ~~てきます。
本書は、そうしたプロトコル理解を強力に手助けしてくれます。この類の書籍はもう1冊、オライリーの「802.11無線ネットワーク管理」も定番ですが、この教科書は日本人、それもIEEE802.11aの開発にあたったNTTの技術陣が執筆していること、また発行が新しい分、より最新の動向をキャッチアップできるのが特徴でしょう。
本書による詳細理解と合わせ、実~~際に“生きた”企業無線LAN設計の手法については、「802.11セキュア無線LAN設計ガイドブック」（電気通信協会発行）もお読みいただけると嬉しく存じます。~

無線ＬＡＮを学ぶ人、仕事にしている人に必携の書。それは当たり前だが、初版を持っているのに改訂版も買う必要があるかは微妙だなーと、暫く思案していた。実のところ、それほど差分は多くない。だけど、そのちょっとした最新情報が他ではなかなか知り得ないので、やはり誘惑に負けて購入した。なにげなく訂正されている箇所も見つけたし、買って良かったかも。

長く在庫切れになっていた本の改訂版で、最新の標準化技術が載っているので、無線LANのエンジニアや学生には最適かつ必須！！首を長くして待っていた待望の本。取りあえず買って見て損はないよ~
