ブログの入門書です。新書版でページも少なく、簡単に読み通すことができます。初歩の操作手順をなぞるだけの内容ですが、場当たり的な問題解決を通して知識を増やすよりも、整理された入門書をきちんと読み通す方が初心者には効率的です。独学による基本のマスターは意外に難しいものです。

本書はケータイ日記＝無料レンタルブログと定義し、第1章で実例を示しています。第2章は各種レンタルサービスの紹介、第3章は全サービスにほぼ共通する基本操作の説明、第4章はオマケの機能・サービスの解説です。

解説はシンプルです。初心者が迷いやすい重要な部分は図解されますが、多くの操作ステップは言葉で説明されます。1．パソコンを所有しインターネットに接続している　2．WWW 活用の初歩スキルがある　3．パソコンと携帯電話の両方で日本語入力に不自由しない　以上3点が前提となっているからです。その分、サクサク読めます。パソコンも携帯電話も WWW も使える、でもケータイ日記は未経験、という方にはピッタリの1冊です。

パソコンを買ったばかりの方には「ぜったいデキます！ ホームページ作り」を勧めます。ネット暦が浅く、パソコンや携帯電話にも不慣れな方には「できるブログ」を勧めます。いずれも版型が大きく、ページも多く、読むのに時間のかかる本ですが、図解が豊富なので安心です。
