　Ｃｉｓｃｏの参考本に多い訳本ではないので、用語解説なども全体的にわかりやすくかかれていると思う。
　本書はＣａｔａｌｙｓｔスイッチを取り扱う人向けに書かれた「教科書」であるが、１章のネットワーク構築における基礎知識はＣａｔａｌｙｓｔを使わないとしてもネットワーク構築に携わる人にとって役立つと思われる。

　特に「Ｃａｔａｌｙｓｔの法則」はむしろ「ＬＡＮ構築の法則」として一般的にも使えるのではないか。
　「Ｃａｔａｌｙｓｔ教科書」であるが故に、「製品紹介」的ページが目に付くのは仕方がないが、解説つきのコンフィグリストがあるのはＣａｔａｌｙｓｔ初級者にとって助かる情報である。

本書の発売をCisco社のセミナーにて知り，興味本位で購入しました。
しかし，内容はネットワーク設計（Cisco社製品）の初心者の方には技術・設計ポイントの参考書として，上級者の方には「ちょっとしたことを探す」ガイドブックとして非常にお勧めできます。

Cisco社独自の技術の説明や，代表的なネットワークの設計，製品等が詳細な図から理解しやすく，ユーザ等に説明する際にも大変役立ちました。
Catalyst製品と関わりのある方，今後関わるご予定の方，他社の製品をお使いの方でも，読んで損は無い1冊だと思います。

よく書けていると思います。既に増刷も決定したみたいです。
単なる機器の紹介だけでなく、ネットワーキングの数年来の
歴史をひも解くという観点から、この分野に関わる全ての
皆様の共感を得るものと確信しています。
なお著者グループはゴールデンウィークを返上してこの本を
書き上げたそうです。
